Wax Removal

We provide cerumen (wax) removal from the ear canals. A visual inspection is first performed to determine the consistency of the wax, its position in the ear canal, and other physical characteristics. If it is determined safe to do so, we will begin the process of removal. A variety of curettes are used, as shown below, in addition to the video otoscope and other instruments. If the wax is deep within the ear canal and close to the eardrum, or is impacted and difficult to remove manually, we will typically refer to the family physician to complete the removal.
There is a charge of $20 per ear for wax removal.
